Town Christmas Tree lighting

The other day started the Christmas 🌲 lighting season. We went to one and, despite my aversion to big crowds and the cold, soaked in the spirit of the time.

People coming together and laughing and being more pleasant and patient than one experiences in the day-to-day life is dear I say magical.

There was Santa and Mrs. Claus and even some real life reindeer. Along the street there were, also, train sets running, Christmas movies projected on a screen for the kids, and even an ice sculpture cut out so children could stand behind it like a picture frame. In one window, a woman played Christmas melodies on a harp. Especially surprising was the size the soft pretzels people were walking around with that were bigger than some children. I may exaggerate a bit but they were huge.

Lastly, the tree itself with people caroling around it before everyone counting down from ten in unison for the lucky chosen individual to light it.

The festive mood is really what makes the gathering different from others and makes one wish it was like that every day.

Have a safe and glorious holiday season everyone!
